ATA Engineering Announces the Release of IMAT v5.0.0

Enhancements include novel filtering capability for additional kinds of data in IMAT+Signal, accelerated test mode extraction in IMAT+Modal, and more

SAN DIEGO, Calif., November 11, 2014 — ATA is excited to announce the release of version 5.0.0 of the IMAT family of software products. IMAT is a MATLAB interface designed for test and analysis engineers who work with large engineering data sets. This release brings a number of exciting new enhancements to the powerful functionality available in IMAT.

ATA is committed to providing new IMAT releases in conjunction with new MATLAB releases. ATA Engineering designed IMAT v5.0.0 to work with MATLAB R2014b as well as previous releases back to R2011b.

Notable IMAT+FEA Upgrades:

Enhancements to readnas include faster importing of results into MATLAB, plus importing of useful parameter values from Nastran. Speed matters when you have large numbers of results to store. IMAT+FEA’s readnas can now import some results intoimat_result about five times faster, increasing your productivity. The Parameter Value Table can also now be imported from Nastran Output2 and bulk data formats, giving you access to more information about your analysis setup.

Notable IMAT+Modal Upgrades:

AFPoly’s curve-fitter has been revamped for faster test mode extraction. The modal parameter solver in IMAT+Modal’s AFPoly has been improved to make more efficient use of your computing resources, including multi-threading, offering faster modal parameter identification.

Visual mode identification in MTK lets you easily confirm the modes used in your RSS calculations. Sometimes test modes are a linear combination of several closely spaced analysis modes. Identifying this takes good sense. Enhancements to IMAT+Modal’s report_test_xml now make it easy to visually determine which modes have been included in your closely-spaced-mode RSS orthogonality calculations.

Notable IMAT+Signal Upgrades:

Newly implemented Vold-Kalman filtering advancements in RTK make it possible to process previously intractable data sets. IMAT+Signal’s RTK has been updated to incorporate the latest advancements in the Vold-Kalman filter, which extends your reach to processing previously intractable multiple-shaft data, such as data from counter-rotating turbines.
