ATA Engineering Featured in TARDEC’s History of Innovation Book

ATA Engineering’s reconfigurable bridge, ARCS™, was featured as a successful project from SBIR funding.

SAN DIEGO, Calif., March 10, 2015 – ATA Engineering’s development of a lightweight, portable bridging system, ARCSTM, capable of carrying 50 ton payloads over 60 foot spans has been featured as a successful SBIR-funded project in The TARDEC Story: Sixty-Five Years of Innovation, 1946–2010.

The bridging system, built in conjunction with the U.S. Army Tank and Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC), can be tailored to varying spans and carrying capabilities. Initially developed for military applications, this product can be used in various situations, including humanitarian efforts. More information about this innovative system is available here.

TARDEC, founded in 1946 with the objective of evolving new technologies, is one of many organizations ATA Engineering has supported in technology research and development.

The TARDEC Story: Sixty-Five Years of Innovation, 1946–2010 details the organization’s history of notable advancements in ground vehicles and related technologies, including collaborations with businesses such as ATA. The book is available for purchase here.
